I looked at 3 different websites which I feel are similar to Easel in the way of uploading art work or images, but do it in a different way.
Behance – This is for mostly graphic design artists, posting their latest pieces of work which are usually; posters, adverts, logo designs etc.
I like the way bechance has a view and like system to each piece of work, so you can visually see how popular the work is to the audience. This is something I would like to see in our website if we can work out the coding.
Instagram – This is a WebApp I use all the time, you upload photos for your followers to see. They can then like or comment on your upload.
Tumblr – This is a blogging WebApp where you can upload anything you want, from images, videos, text, audio, links etc.
Tumblr also has a like and comment feature, but also has reblog. This allows followers to reblog exactly what you have posted to their followers, but links to your blog as well so their followers can see you blog.
It looks like all these uploading WebApps lets you create an account and upload images in some way, where followers can like and comment. These websites are more like blogging applications for followers, but Easel won’t have user followers, all images will be displayed on the homepage.
I want Easel to have the like and comment feature and user account. What makes Easel individual from these other WebApps is that users only upload art work rather than photos.
