Using BootStrap

At first we wanted to only use CSS to organise classes, but found that very time consuming and harder customise and add the features we wanted like dropdowns and rollovers.

Going with bootstrap made it easier to create the features like our login boxes and register box, other buttons and the main navigation bars.

Discipline and Research – Essay Ideas

My idea for the essay was to show the development of the first 4 Metal Gear Solid games.

I want to ask one of my flatmates to play the opening sequence of each Metal Gear Solid games 1-4 and see the development of the games, through means of graphics, storyline and gameplay.

One of the main areas I want to write about in my essay is the use of camera angles, birds eye view, 3rd person, first person etc.
Metal Gear Solid 1-2 have birds eye views of the game, Metal Gear Solid 3-4 are 3rd person styled games.

I want to see how these camera angles changed the user experience of the game. This might be playability and gameplay, but also character development. Do you relate to and have an emotional connection for the character more, if you are seeing through the eyes of the character or seeing the character you’re playing as.

Group Project – Website Draw up and name

This is a rough draw up of our website and what we want it to look like.

Website DrawingIn our website we want users to be able to create an account, upload images, have an account page, like posts and maybe add comments to posts.
Also some of the features we want to add to the website is to have a sort feature on the posts which the user can change, to display the most liked images, newly added posts.

We thought of the name Easel for the web app which we all agreed was relevant and creative.

Group Project – First Meetup (Idea Brain storm)

I met up with my group a couple of weeks ago, they had an idea of creating an online Art Gallery of an existing gallery like the Bournemouth Modern Museum which I thought was a really good idea.
Abbie visited the museum and didn’t feel that it was very commercial for what we wanted, so I thought of an idea of users being able to upload their own artwork, similar to instagram but only being able to upload drawings, paintings and other types of art work but not photography.

We created an about us page showing everyone who is in our group displaying a picture of us and a bio.
