Workshop – Vector Graphics

In the workshop today we are learning how to use the software Illustrator and Inkscape.

Inkscape is an open source program, whilst Illustrator is from the Adobe Package which seems a lot more powerful and easier to use.

In Inkscape we made a vector Chinese doll character which was fun to make. The program Inkscape reminds me of very old software, like paint which is very limited. Illustrator is a much better programming to use for creating vector graphics.

In illustrator we went through the basic tools, using shapes in various way to create different effects and patterns.

For my Poster I will definitely be using Illustrator over Inkscape.
